Thirteenth Peethadhish
P. P. Swami Shri Ramkrishnanath Maharaj
(1817 - 1891)
Born in 1822 in Nagpur’s Andhare family, Swami Shri Ramkrishnanath Maharaj came from a lineage deeply connected to Shri Devnath Maharaj’s spiritual teachings. His grandmother was a devout disciple of Shri Devnath Maharaj, and it was foretold that Shri Devnath Maharaj would reincarnate within their family to continue his mission.
Before leaving for his heavenly abode, Shri Devnath Maharaj entrusted a sacred Hanuman idol to a saint named Marutibuva in Kashi. As per his Guru's command, Shri Ramkrishnanath Maharaj later retrieved this idol.
His coronation took place in Gwalior in 1851, and over the next 40 years, he expanded the reach of Shri Devnath Peeth across India. He briefly resided in Shirsagaon before eventually returning to Shri Devnath Math in Anjanigram.
His divine presence radiated the essence of a Mahavaishnava saint, with his body adorned in sacred ash. Devotees perceived him as a living embodiment of Lord Dattatreya.
On Chaitra Krishna Ashtami in 1784 (Shaka era), Swami Shri Ramkrishnanath Maharaj entered samadhi.
